Comments
Comments: short time frame so this worked out. nice to have the zealand road still open..lots of cars back and forth to the hut area today, road bare and easy going. a fresh dusting of snow in places in the woods, just enough to collect on moss and ferns. a few stretches of fresh flow ice but avoidable and no traction needed. terrific views under overcast sky from the wide open summit. barely a breeze though it was cold. a bit of rime on exposed branches, very cool. felt like i turned a corner today, short hike but pushed it, winter pack and wind was good..has been a long summer..great day to be out!!
