Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: Parked at Hidden Valley Camp. You don't need to sign in during the off-season. There is no signage directing you to the Red-Yellow Merge. Basically, follow the signs for Sunset Waterfront. When you reach Sunset Lake, the combined trails turn left into the woods (then split shortly thereafter).
Surface Conditions
Surface Conditions: Dry Trail, Wet Trail, Standing/Running Water on Trail, Leaves - Significant/Slippery
Recommended Equipment
Recommended Equipment:
Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: Both crossings of West Brook (one on the Red Trail and the other on the Blue-Yellow Merge) were running high, deep and fast. I bushwhacked upstream from the RT crossing to try and find something better, but where the trail crosses is the best option. This still involves stepping on submerged stepping stones. Some of the rocks at these crossings are icy, so use caution.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Several minor stepover blow downs on the various trails, nothing major.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Sure, but didn't see any.
Bugs
Bugs: Too cold.
Lost and Found
Lost and Found: Nothing.

Comments
Comments: Some more redlining to pick up all the required trails in the Goat Pasture Hill / Mt. Shannon area, and also some stragglers near Mt. Anna. Easy walking and good footing on most of these trails makes for quick travel. No real ice to speak of, just some spots on the Anna ledges. Standing and running water on the logging road portion of the Anna-Old Stage Road Link. In trying to pick up all these trails I climbed Shannon, then descended down to Lake Eileen, then turned around and reclimbed it, then descended back down to the camp. Shannon is a very nice small peak! Roomy ledges and great views.

Of course, this report will pretty much be moot after tonight's storm.
