| Comments: |
About 5 inches new snow, dense and crusty, atop a thin layer of ice. Used snow shoes up and down, the dozen or so other hikers we saw wore boots, some with microspikes. Brought sled but didn't use it as this was first snow and there's still too many rocks poking through. |
