Comments
Comments: A return to the Belknap area for some more redlining. I'm liking Belknap Mountain more the more I explore it. Trails were for the most part choppy with frozen boot prints, making for rough footing. Snowshoes wouldn't have been any good. I wore spikes all day.

Started up to Gunstock, dropped down to the col between Gunstock and Belknap, took the Blue Trail down to the garage, then the short walk to the outlook at the end of Wayne's Way (very nice!). From there I climbed Belknap via the Warden's Trail. Nice views from the iced over fire tower. Be very careful on the steps. From the summit, I followed the East Gilford Trail, then went down and back up the Boulder Trail. What a GREAT route! Steep, boulder scrambling, open ledges and views. Just lovely. Will definitely be back to do that one again in summer. Back at the tower, I took the Red Trail down to the garage then walked Carriage Road back to my car.

Lots of cars at the gate, but only saw two people (and one dog) all day.
