| Comments: |
The first few tenths of the Mt. Langdon Trail were well packed by barebooters headed up Cave Mountain. Thereafter, we used snowshoes all the way to Parker and back. A couple of hikers booted, but snowshoes seemed much easier, especially since this footbed isn't nearly as nasty as others in the Whites. Generally about 6" of dense granular snow with a breakable crust. Trail has a nice snowshoe footbed to Parker (no tracks north) as of early this afternoon.
Just before the trail reaches the summit ledges, there is a bootleg herd path that heads west to a nice set of view ledges (and by a boulder that could well be the highpoint of the peak). |
