First portion of the Whiteface Mountain Trail was somewhat packed by foot traffic. Some ice lurking underneath, so light traction not a bad idea.
No recent use from the stonewall to the summit, however. Generally about 2" of powder on top of ice. Large puddles appear to be pretty firmly frozen. Some snow drifts approaching a foot deep in places. Caution needed on the final ascent, as there was a lot of ice lurking underneath the powder. |
