Comments: Beautiful views! despite some clouds And perfect temperatures. Champney Falls Tr was a microspike lovers dream - well packed with a few ice floes necessitating care esp on descent. Champney Falls Cutoff and Middle Sister Tr were less packed and we did a few post holes but not bad enough to require snowshoes. The very end of the rise toward the wall remnant at the summit was pretty icy. It looked sketchy so we did not attempt the last 20 feet to the wall, although 2 other parties descended it - call me a wimp or a safety fanatic.

On ascent we did the loop by Champney Falls- beautiful blue ice arc around the lower falls and always a treat to see the ice climbers. We completed the ascent up the loop toward the main trail. The rock stairs were thickly iced and tricky though doable.
