| Comments: |
Microspiked up Garfield Trail to summit. Snowshoes needed on Garfield Ridge Trail, 6-8" fresh snow - yay! Water source for Garfield Ridge Campsite still open and running. Steep sections below shelter site were fresh powder atop hard ice. Some may feel more comfortable with crampons for this section, but did fine with just snowshoes. Breaking trail in the winter wonderland over to Galehead was a joy. Snowshoed about halfway down Gale River Trail until it got too bony.
Now to burrow in for the weekend... |
