Near perfect day for a Presi Traverse, with light winds, sunshine, and warm temps. Was lots of ice everywhere, of every variety. We carried crampons but managed to do the full traverse car to car in Hillsound spikes and hiking poles. Would strongly recommend crampons and ice axes though. Avoided large snowfield on Jeff by heading up and around. Needed sunglasses and sunscreen today but not 90% of all the other stuff I carried. ;p In just shirtsleeves most of the day.
Thanks to FP, Cruddy, K and J for a really, really fun day! |
