	Trails:	Starr King Trail

	Date of Hike:	Saturday, August 14, 2010

	Parking/Access Road Notes:	Arrived at 10:15 am to find the parking lot nearly full.

	Surface Conditions:	Dry Trail, Mud - Minor/Avoidable

	Recommended Equipment:

	Water Crossing Notes:

	Trail Maintenance Notes:	Clear trail with no blow downs. Minimal mud.

	Dog-Related Notes:	Easy hike for dogs but little water. There was no water after the spring .5 miles below Starr King's summit.

	Bugs:	Only a few annoying flies near the parking lot. The kind that like to buzz around your eyes and face.

	Lost and Found:	Another basket from a trekking pole.


	Comments:	Busy trail today. We saw 20 people and 1 dog! The skies were hazy but views of the presidentials could still be seen from Starr King. I love the moss covered trees along the ridge. Lots of mushrooms.
