Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: Excellent directions in a 2/18 post. I will add that it's possible after crossing the pedestrian bridge to go up to the old RR bed at a "AMC Trail" sign instead of following the road to the left. Also the "microscopic MT detour" sign is no bigger than a business card and obviously easy to miss. After turning right on the road, I took an unused trail to the left that eventually links up with the MT. It is better to follow the 2/18 post to turn left when you get to the signs warning of thin ice, etc. on the canal. Then there is an "official" sign.

Comments
Comments: Once on the trail, ice and snow change from patchy to 1-2" of granular snow near the summit. Great views toward Pinkham Notch from the ledges--so nice I forgot to take a photo. Link below to photos show some of the trail junctions and more. Wore microspikes up and back.
