| Parking/Access Road Notes: |
We spotted a car at Gunstock and shuttled the rest to the Mt Major Parking Area. Plenty of room at Mt Major but the Gunstock lot was filling up quickly with skiers. |
|
| Surface Conditions: |
Dry Trail, Ice - Black, Wet Trail, Ice - Blue, Wet/Slippery Rock, Standing/Running Water on Trail, Snow/Ice - Frozen Granular, Mud - Minor/Avoidable |
|
| Recommended Equipment: |
Light Traction, Traction |
|
| Water Crossing Notes: |
A few minor hops and one major crossing on the Anna-Mack Link. We had to bushwhack upstream a bit to find a safe point to cross. |
|
| Trail Maintenance Notes: |
Trails are in great shape. A couple small blowdowns on the Anna-Mack Link and the Ridge Trail as well. BRATTS work from last fall at Round Pond is holding up nicely. A great improvement to the trail |
|
| Dog-Related Notes: |
Didn't see any dogs today. Some may have trouble on all the ice right now. Also, some may have trouble in the boulder field on the Boulder Trail |
|
| Bugs: |
|

| Lost and Found: |
Nothing except for trash near the Wine Garden on Gunstock. |

| Comments: |
Ice, ice baby! Lots of ice today. Trails were mixed with ice, bare ground and open ledge. We did fine with Microspikes and Hillsounds. Some may want full crampons for some of the ice. Some water running down the trail some frozen ice flows as well. A great day with some great people for the Belknap Range Hikers Facebook page. |
