Winter is still around with minus degree temps today, blazing full sunshine and deep blue sky warmed us up, as well as very little wind, when it did blow you felt it!Used light traction hillsounds from car to summit and back, Ice bulges and flows on middle part of trail, ice was soft enough to get great traction or plenty of snow on the sides . Around 2 inches of fresh white snow at the higher elevations, with some deeper drifting closer to Waumbek summit.Saw turkey tracks ,moose tracks and snow hare tracks. Great day out, ran into 5 hikers, a gray jay, and had perfect company with Brenda from the Purple Army !!Great sunny, cold day on the hills !!! |
