Paugus Road was dry and frozen in the morning and easily passable. By the drive out in late afternoon it was soft. Some pretty deep ruts are present. At least two VERY large water holes spanning almost the entire width of the road. |

| Comments: |
Most of the hike up the lower part of Liberty Trail was surprisingly dry. Just enough ice left for maybe the last 3/4 mile to the cabin to need mini-spikes. Spikes on and off several times between the cabin and the summit. Missed the turn onto Liberty on the descent and took Brook Trail. Would not recommend this trail for a descent quite yet. Significant sections of steep melted and re-glazed ice very difficult to navigate coming down. Was dicey even with spikes. Dry section at the lower middle but then lots of ice for the last mile, although flatter and easier to negotiate. Liberty is a much better choice at this stage between these two trails. |
