Comments
Comments: After the first 1/4 mile we put on our Hillsounds. There was an inch of fresh snow covering ice, but on the first mile there were areas of standing water and leaves. We had snow balling on the spikes initially. Higher the snow was drier. Walking on the ice on the steep trail was challenging as it was obscured by the fresh snow. If we had crampons we would have used them for the last 1/4 mile. The ice bulges on the last steep switchbacks were managed with creative tree hugging. Limited views on an overcast day, but it was nice to get out.
