Arrived about 8:30am. Marion Davis Trail both ways. The sun was shining through the clouds as the storm system moved out to the east. Some light snow fell here and through from squalls even with the skies clearing. No one else was on the summit. I believe the wind didn't really start picking up until after I reached the parking lot again. My highest gust while on the summit was only 32.2mph. The weather/air pollution monitor on the summit read a temperature of 25F with a wind chill of 15F while I was looking at it. Highest snow depth on summit was maybe 3-4". But some snow drifts were ankle deep. Overall, a beautiful and fairly mild hike considering the forecast. |
