Comments
Comments: Mix of mud, dusting of snow, rocks and ice for the first mile, then ice began taking over the trail under a couple of inches of fresh snow that started clinging to our micro-spikes making for tedious conditions, especially descending the Smarts Brook Trail, crampons would not be an overkill above 2,500 feet. It was a beautiful bluebird day out but the ice was making the hike not so enjoyable so we headed down early, lots of tree-hugging on the way out :)
