Comments
Comments: Took TPT to the Carr Mtn. intersection. At Sucker Brook we looked for a crossing point up and down and nothing seemed great. We went back onto TPT and went up it to the bridge that crosses the brook and followed the snowmobile trail back down. The snowmobile trail was muddy. CMT went from dry to wet to muddy (lots of mud under leaves). At 2400 feet we hit snow as the trail goes more to the north of the mtn. Snow became ice. We used traction (microspikes and Hillsounds). Saw others without traction but the effort to avoid the ice seemed like harder work than putting on the spikes. There were some significant ice bulges. Still can get views from top. On return we crossed the brook and with waterproof boots it was not a big issue. Nice adventure with Karen.
