A sunny bluebird day on Black, one of my favorite ledgy peaks. I need the Black Mountain Trail for redlining, but I love the steep and scenic Chippewa Trail too much! The trail is mostly dry with some patches of ice in shady areas. Traction not needed. Awesome views as always over to Moosilauke, Jeffers, Sugarloaf, Blueberry and also over to the Kinsmans and Franconia Ridge. From the summit ledges, I spotted a vehicle along the logging road that snakes its way across the northern slope of Sugarloaf. How does one get onto that road? |
