Comments
Comments: There was lots of hard, thick ice for the last 2 miles leading to the summit of Mt. Cabot. We opted to do the loop rather than head back down that mess. We had microspikes and didn't have an issues. It was treacherous for my friend's dog. Luckily, his pack had a handle so we were able to lift him and pull him. HIGHLY recommend spikes for this part of the trail. Also, following Kilkenny Ridge Trail to the Unknown Pond Trail there was a lot of softer ice and wet, spring snow. Spikes were helpful there as well.
