Comments
Comments: Great weather for a 52WAV hike, sunny all day. Took the day off but started late for us, 11:00 AM and thought we would not run into anyone. Well we didn't on the way up to Mt. Cube, nice trail only 2 miles and 1500' of elevation. Bottom part of trail is mild with a steady but not steep grade. After the first views nw, the trails takes multiple switchbacks to climb the remaining 800'. There was one ice floe covering the trail at about 2200'. Otherwise mud was the order of the day while in the trees. There is a great west facing ledge about 1 mile in. Saw our first person of the day at the top of Cube. Made the trip over to North Peak for lunch and great views over to Moosilauke and other ridges. Saw a couple of people there. On the trail over North Peak it is longer than you think when you get onto the ledges keep going for a least a few minutes more to get a good seat. Ran into a Meetup group as we were heading back to Cube, actually ran into somebody we knew, the hiking community is small!
