Recommended Equipment
Recommended Equipment:
Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: Many, I lost count. No major issues though. The main crossing of Oliverian Brook will require dipping your boots in the water a bit.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: These are all wilderness trails, so they are lightly maintained. Numerous blowdowns on all trails, but nothing too bad. The first part of the SLT descending from the PC junction has pretty much been destroyed by erosion. :(
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Sure. Tons of water along this route.
Bugs
Bugs: Buzzing about, but not really doing anything yet.
Lost and Found
Lost and Found: Nothing.

Comments
Comments: Deep into the Sandwich Range Wilderness today, with a long loop out to Square Ledge and beyond, picking up some redlines in the process.

Trails are mostly dry with areas of mud. SLT has some minor ice floes approaching the slide on Nanamocomuck Peak, easily avoidable. This was a great long loop, easy grades at the beginning and end, with the steep climbing in the middle. The "mini-chimney" climbing up to Square Ledge was wet, but there are nearby roots to assist.

A very quiet day in this remote part of the Whites!
