Comments
Comments: First 2-miles are clear of ice and snow. In the morning, the trails were nice and crunchy. Later in the day, this turned to mud. Above the 2-mile point, lots of areas of boiler plate ice. In ridge runs, there are some areas of snow with mono rail. As there was not much snow, the post-holing that was present didn't look too painful. Saw a number of hikers heading up Jackson in the afternoon without spikes. Nice weather in the valley gets people out but the upper mountains still have lots of ice. Without spikes you are not going to make it to the top of Jackson safely.
