Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: The parking area off Bear Notch Rd. has some erosion on the access, and it is a bit too narrow to allow easy nose in/out parking, but a handful of cars can fit in. Bear Notch Road is in good shape.

Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Attitash to a ways past Table Mtn is in pretty good shape. There's a new major blowdown below the col and another blowdown mess further up and another sometime after Table. From the other direction the trail is easy to follow up to Big Attitash, nice down low, rougher high with a major blowdown complex. From Big Attitash through the descent to the low point before Table, there are various blowdowns, old and newer. The major problem is the spruce and fir regen that has swallowed up sections of trail, and in some cases hiding blowdown that could trip one up if they don't see it. Even so I had no problem following the trail using trail "momentum", even through the small bog area. The trail is eroding as one descends Table Mtn on the Bear Notch side, although there isn't much one can do about it except for hikers to use the ledges when they are dry as much as possible.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Pepper had fun, although he had to wait for me a lot. Where I found the spring snow very slippery on the hike out, especially on descents and sidehills, he had no problems. On the hike out the path was mostly snow so he skipped the sip n dips, but on the return with the snowmelt and warmer temps he enjoyed several of them.
Bugs
Bugs: None!

Comments
Comments: I used spikes several times on the hike out in the morning due to an almost continuous 2-3" of spring snow after Table Mtn to where Lucy Brook's drainage widens out. I found it slippery in trail runners on the steeper descents and sidehills. I was amazed that so much had remained at such modest altitudes, but much of the trail after Table was north aspect, on a steep slope. in conifers with full crown closure, and in places plenty of spruce-fir regen hiding the trail. I was thus amazed that on the return leg, that so much of that snow had melted or been reduced to thinner almost slush snow where it remained. From the time we hit Lucy Brook where the main drainage met up with the branch the trail comes down with to Moat Mtn trail and then the entire trail back, it was a wonderful spring hike. The ledges on Table Mtn were great for a leisurely stop.
