19 cars upon arrival so I parked in winter lot on Rte 2. Only 5 minutes from there to summer lot and it saves you driving over rough entrance if that is an issue for your car. |

Two sections with troublesome ice. The ice floe just above the spring is about 100 steps. Soft and dirty today but quite thick and going to be there for at least 2 weeks unless seeing intense warm sun. Quite a stretch of ice heading up Waumbek. Most difficult section today was coming back down this. Those without traction were doing a lot of off trail tree hugging. This section was much thinner ice and will probably be gone by next weekend with normal conditions. Microspikes worked fine. I would guess that Waumbek was the NH4K with the least ice issues today. Lots of mud after hitting soft woods. Nice meeting postal patty (Grid #60) as well as others out enjoying the warm temps today. |
