Surprise, there was snow up North today. Just a dusting down low with maybe a fat inch on the summit. It actually helped the traction on the ice for me. There were lots sad cold flowers on the first part of the trail. Trout lilies, trillium and spring beauties would be out on a sunny day. The dutchmens breeches and bellwort will be out soon. Trail starts dry, then has alternating minor mud and water in the trail. Snow coating the ground as soon as I left the hardwoods and continued all the way to the summit. I put on traction just after the spring and wore it down to about the same spot.
There were some views toward the Presis but it looked to still be snowing there. |
