Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: 6-8 blowdowns on Caps Ridge starting about 15 minutes from TH and ending shortly beyond view rock. 50-50 mix of quick cuts vs. tough jobs. Trail very dry from bottom to top. Couple of blowdowns on Valley Way; one near Lower Bruin jct. and one near Scar jct. IIRC. I believe upper one was causing a slight routing around.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Tough area for dogs and limited water.
Bugs
Bugs: Black flies out & biting. Glad to have brought repellant.

Comments
Comments: Gorgeous day above tree line. One 100' stretch of snow on Gulfside north of Jefferson easily stepped through. Had to look hard to find any ice. Trails mostly dry with a few wet sections on Gulfside and upper half of Valley Way. Huge thanks to Christine from Lancaster for a ride back to Caps Ridge. Back of Madison Hut was open for water and bathroom but closed till next weekend from what I heard.
