Recommended Equipment
Recommended Equipment:
Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: No issues.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: There's a large and awkward leaner on the Davis Path between the Stairs Col junction and the Stairs spur which posed a small challenge with a bigger pack. There are a couple of smaller felled trees on the Stairs spur that are simple step-overs. I met the trail adopter for the section between the Crawford spur and Stairs Col Trail and thanked him for his excellent efforts.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Didn't see any.
Bugs
Bugs: Most of my stationary time was spent wearing some combination of a long sleeve shirt, zipped on legs and/or bug net. Even breezes didn't seem to keep them at bay. I got bit a few times but a relatively small amount when compared to the number of bugs encountered.
Lost and Found
Lost and Found: Nothing.

Comments
Comments: This section of the Davis Path is in good shape, save for the leaner mentioned above. No issues on the Crawford spur either.

Other then the trail adopter, I crossed paths with two ladies on the Davis path who had visited Crawford. These would be the only folks I saw for two days. Views from Crawford were excellent in all directions. Once on Stairs I set up my tent and spent the night in complete solitude. Mid-afternoon clear sky gave way to clouds at sunset but the midnight sky offered too many stars for me to count.

The only water I could find was behind the former Resolution Shelter - and I did look at some of the other potential sources nearby. That source is flowing some at the moment but YMMV so plan accordingly. If you need it be careful going down to get it as the path to and the drop-off behind the shelter site are rough and steep.
