Comments
Comments: Thanks to the earlier poster who mentioned this southwest side of Monadnock as an alternative to busier main gate. Nice little wind vane at Monte Rosa. Loved the Smith Summit's winding yet very manageable approach with great views. High wind gusts made me practice staying low and cut short the summit stay; very glad for the hats and mittens in the pack. The White Arrow trail on descent was dry, a little challenging at top but a nice fast way down. Next time I want to descend in longer loop taking in cliff walk trail.
Great to get some hiking in on a day where weather in most other zones was dicey.
