Recommended Equipment:
Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: No problems
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Scaur Ridge Trail is very pleasant with nice footpath, but could use some brushing down low. This probably won't happen since it is a Wilderness Area.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Not a trip I would take a dog on.
Bugs
Bugs: No bugs down low. Up on the summits the black flies were really bad. Descending the S Slide they were a major problem.

Comments
Comments: A very rugged hike on a beautiful day. Took a rain check on N Slide since I figured it would be very slick down low due to Wednesday rain. Used Scaur Ridge instead and was pleasantly surprised at how nice it was. S Slide was very tedious with the loose scree. There, the black flies were attacking in swarms. Saw very few hikers for such a nice day.
