Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: Ample parking on S Arm Rd, Maine 17, and Maine 4. Maine 17 construction was a minor problem. A major problem was that Google Maps re-routed us over dirt roads that my low rider car was not meant for. Lotta bottom scraping. For fellow low riders, do not go on Easter Hill Rd to Lowness Farm Rd. Instead roll down ME 17 to Crossover Rd. We did a 2 car, 2 day slack pack dance. Stayed at F

Comments
Comments: We did a 2 day, 2 car, 26 mile slack pack. This was our last training hike for the 100 Mile Wilderness hike in July. Very enjoyable. Enjoyed our stay at Farmhouse Inn near Rangeley Friday night. We dropped 1 car at Rt 4 crossing, drove to mid-point on Rt 17 and hiked north. Flat, easy 13 mile hike. Some good views from the small hills. Enjoyed the swim at Sabbath Day pond. Nice beach with bench when north bounders first hit the lake. Dropping trou guaranteed privacy from the only powerboat on the lake. After the hike, drove to Pine Ellis Inn in Andover Saturday night. Drove to S Arm Road crossing in the morn after a 5AM breakfast at Mills Market. More up and down from S Arm to Rt 17. Good views. Very enjoyable.
