Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: We drove up the West Branch Clear Stream Road to JCT pointing toward Railroad Spur then another 200-300 yards and parked in a small former log yard along the road. These roads get a lot of use from ATV's and 4-wheelers. There is a kiosk at the junction with a very good map of the road maize.

Comments
Comments: From where we parked we could see the wind farm tower so we just took a bearing an headed straight up what used to be some clear-cut swaths, now overgrown with blackberry and hobble bush. This gave way to open woods until the base of the cliff band that seemed to extend across the mountain. We did find a herd path up through that took us close enough to see the tower through the trees (we could hear it much sooner). We decided that it might be better to follow the west ridge down to try avoiding the cliff band but we gave up on it too early and decided to head down and back toward out original track which we picked up about a third of a mile from the vehicle. A lot of driving for a 2 mile BW and a disappointing top with the wind turbines. From the GPS reading, they probably took off about 50' of elevation from the peak to level the top for the turbine.
