The usual old blowdowns on Square Ledge Tr because it is in a wilderness area. Early part of this trail has a lot of leaves on trail. Old Mast Rd Trail is in excellent condition |

No problem at outlook due to mild breeze. Ready to take you away if you stopped along trail. |

WARNING: There are only 3 blazes on the Square Ledge Trail from Old Mast Rd Trail to the Square Ledge Trail outlook(all faded). For the first part of this trail to the first brook crossing you have to be careful as to what is actually the trail. At that 1st crossing bear left along the stream for a short distance and look across the stream for the trail. After that crossing the trail is obvious until the bottom of ledge. With no blazes you have to pick your way up the ledge face to the outlook. Coming down that ledge face on the way back is a little scary but duable. The view from the outlook would have been great if it wasn't for the haze. |
