| Trail Maintenance Notes: |
Trail in great shape! Some flagging down low on the south leg, and more on the north leg, with a trail crew out and about building trail structures. I heard them talking (it was lunchtime), presumably in their camp, but didn't see them. |

Met Abby (and her owner Rosemary) on the ridge heading toward Eagle Crag, they were dropping down Eagle Link for redline. |

Midweek delights are just that, and I set my sights on a classic, the Baldface Loop. In all the times I've done these peaks, I'd never just taken the Baldface Circle Trail, always branching off on some variant. The ledge scrambles above Baldface Shelter were as dry as I've ever seen them, and I mean bone dry the whole way up. Some seeps up high when descending from the ridge below Eagle Crag, and consequently there are a couple of slick rocks in here. Only minor mud in a few short sections, but most everything is dry. Nice to meet Rosemary and Abby up on the ridge, hope you guys enjoyed Eagle Link. Had a quick dip just above Emerald Pool (which was basically a mob scene), the cold water felt especially good! A great late morning/early afternoon hike/scramble/run! |
