Recommended Equipment
Recommended Equipment:
Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: The big mess on the Attitash Trail was not difficult, due to the drought. Lucy Brook on the Red Ridge Trail was easy.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Excellent, good signage. It appears as though the trail going up to North Moat has had some brushing. Thanks! Also, thank you for the arrows in that messy section of Lucy Brook. And by messy, I mean the muck, the debris, etc. All Mother Nature's doing, not the maintainer's. Signage and cairns on this hike were a life saver.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Saw one. Make sure you bring enough water! And don't leave your doggie bag on the side of the trail.

Comments
Comments: We did this going up Red Ridge first, because I was afraid the isolated showers predicted were going to isolate themselves to North Moat. Maybe it would have been better to descend this way, so you could face the wonderful views, but when we descended North Moat late in the day, I was glad we did it the way we did. It would have been a relentless climb up. What a beautiful summit! we could have stayed for hours, but I did not want to have to turn on the lights on the way out. We ended up coming out by headlamp anyway. This was one of the nicest hikes I have done, if I had better speed and endurance I would do it again in a heart beat.
