Really nice loop hike, cleaning up some tiny bits of trail I wanted for the red line. In between West & East Quarry, I spooked a bear while crossing through a ferny area. Surprised the heck out of me!
There is a trail (blazed yellow) that connects the BRT to West Quarry; it's not on the map, but it's easier than bushwhacking and it avoids the beaver ponds... and it's well blazed.
On the way out I spent some time poking around the quarry site, and I also walked down the Lamphrey cemetery spur... very beautiful. |
