Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: Very crowded parking lots on this beautiful day. Some doofus parked along the road near the entrance to the overflowing lower USFS lot with his/her car sticking half way out into the uphill lane. The car was still there on my way home three hours later; really surprised that the car had not been towed, as the cars in the uphill lane had to stop as I drove the downhill lane. I found a space in the overflowing lower Cog lot on the north side of the road.
Surface Conditions
Surface Conditions: Dry Trail, Wet Trail, Wet/Slippery Rock, Mud - Minor/Avoidable
Recommended Equipment
Recommended Equipment:
Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: Trivial crossings at Gem Pool and ledges above on Ammi
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Fantastic shape. Raven has done a great job keeping the Ammi brushed back wide enough to allow folks to pass one another on this heavily used trail. According to his post on VftT, he is looking for someone to assist with upper sections.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Saw a few; good trail for keeping dogs hydrated.
Bugs
Bugs: Saw a few; fortunately not biting.
Lost and Found
Lost and Found: Odd bits of trash, mostly pieces of wrappers from bars, gels, etc.

Comments
Comments: The Ammi is in excellent condition, and drier than usual. Completed my August solo and second grid rounds, and continued progress for my August pm and >60 grid rounds. Beautiful sunny afternoon in the 70s, with clouds developing late.
