Comments
Comments: We first headed up the AT to Table Mountain and its wonderful ledges. Beautiful foliage views from here. Just past the main view ledge, we took the well-defined herd path 0.1 mi. up to the actual summit. The high point is marked by a tree with a green paint blaze and an old rusted can.

Back on the AT, we traversed the MANY ups and downs along the ridge until reaching the wooded summit of Big Attitash (high point just off trail to the right), where we stopped for a break.

About 0.2 mi. beyond Big A, we left the trail and bushwhacked toward North Moat. Woods were initially open but we did encounter alternating pockets of thicker stuff. Grades were moderate with one short steep section. We popped out on the MMT about 0.2 mi. south of the North Moat summit. The bushwhack was about 0.8 mi. and saved us about 3.5 mi. of on-trail distance, which would have involved descending all the way down to Lucy Brook and then back up again to North Moat.

Tremendous views from North Moat of the foliage. No bright sun, but hey, it was still beautiful. We had lunch here then headed across the ridge over Middle and South Moat and then down to our spotted cars.
