Old logging road, ATV trails, old trail, newer cut road, skidder roads
Well this was a lot easier than I expected. We went straight up on the skidder road heading towards the mountain. After this I found an older ATV trail that parallels the skidder road and we followed it until it came back out onto that skidder road. The road was more of just a logging road at that point. We continued up and followed this road until it came to a straight or left around the mountain and we went left. After this we continued until another fork happened (right or left going up) we went left. This old road put us out on a brand new cut road of some sort that brought us straight to the summit. We got up and back in about an hour an a half at about 3.5 miles. We tried to retrace steps down but only had a mishap on the first atv road we had followed. The skidder road just put us right back to the car. The tower would have some nice views but it was cloudy at that time. There are a lot of missing stairs by the way (not too safe going up). |
