Comments: Loon Mountain Resort's Brookway Trail, Nordic Trail, glades, bushwhack

From behind the Mountain Club's parking garage I climbed up to the Brookway Trail and started up. after crossing over the brook I walked up the trail until the trail bends more right look left there is a trail and in a short distance there is a sign that reads To XC Trail and a nice little bridge over the brook. From here I fixed my compass and went straight up. At first I was in nice open woods that are gladed for skiing. But I jsut went straight up and wiggled around anything I didn't' want to go over. It was steep here and there and slippery, sometime the trees got a little thick but not for long. I ended up hitting the col just north of the main summit, followed swell herd paths from there to the recognized summit. There was snow above 2400'. Too cloudy for views but I had a few breaks here and there that opened up to the North Peak and across to Whaleback. Good quick one for a late morning start. I really hadn't planned on doing the whack but I decided I wanted to finish the NH Highest 200 and didn't want to wait. Thank you to all my friends that joined me along the way, now on to the rest of the 500!
