Comments
Comments: We hiked up the Mt Kineo trail to the HOL and then took our bearing toward E. Kineo. Relatively open woods on the north side of the ridge that pretty much went in the direction we were heading. In the final col before heading up to our summit we hit upon an old road that I think serviced the rain gages in the Hubbard Experimental Forest. We followed this nearly to the target. Our return followed this old path to a second rain gage and from there we traversed the slope toward the Mt Kineo trail intersecting the trail about a quarter mile from our vehicles. There is a lot of interesting testing going on in this forest as we ran into many marked trees and pins. Aside from the last scramble to the summit this was a fairly easy open woods walk except for the hobble bush.
