Trail was mostly dry until the usual muddy sections on the switchbacks. Stretches of ice started, and at some point one has to decide when to put the beater spikes on. Sometimes it's a lot faster to walk on the icy sections rather than try to navigate around them. On the summit cone the footing was good, but spikes are a must in my opinion. Most everyone today had spikes on at the higher elevations except for one younger couple. I hope they did ok. Nice day today with lots of sun and and just some light wind at the summit. Nice to meet up with Tim C. in the parking lot today for a chat. |
