Comments
Comments: Parts of Zealand trail would be suitable for snowshoes. Used microspikes and got along fine, but at times snowshoes would have helped. Depth of snow ranged from 3 inches to ~10-12 inches, so would have been a lot of on and off for the snowshoes. Up Twinway, where snow was deeper, snowshoes would be useful. Snowshoes had gone before us and helped pack down some of the powder, which made it easier going for us. Limited view from Zeacliff as snow showers moved in, but still well worth the effort above the hut.
