Waited until temps had "warmed up" to zero around midday and ended up having a great hike, with manageable temps/conditions on these wooded peaks and crystal clear views. Big thanks to those who broke out these trails. Was a nice snowshoe track up to East Peak, then LOTS of drifting between the peaks (given the winds yesterday to this morning, totally expected this).
MSR Evo Ascents performed marvelously the entire hike although I did schlep crampons just in case. An ice axe would not be overkill in spots. Tried not to butt slide too much but couldn't help it in a couple of spots. ;p |
