Comments
Comments: A little redlining and a 52WAV for the solstice with a friend and my canine companion. The CR was broken out and firm so we used spikes for traction. There were some ice bulges and icy patches but not too difficult to navigate or get around. Once on the AT we were the first to break it out as far as and including to north cube spur and then south via Kodak to Jacobs Brook Rd. We also broke out the hexacuba shelter spur. Snow was generally 8-10 inches of powder with a light crust and we switched from spikes to snowshoes just south of the main summit. They stayed on until Jacobs brook road. There were ledgy sections where Sunday's rain left them bare. Great day to be on ledgy trails as views were spectacular.
