Lost and Found
Lost and Found: Found a monopod above the Bald Peak Spur. Quite sure it belongs to a Jack from NH. Contact via email or 802-730-7638 for return. Believe he frequents this site but if someone else knows him (he hiked North only; probably left lot 10:00ish) could you contact him.

Comments
Comments: Used new kahtoola microspikes from bottom up to ridge and then broke in new MSR Evos which have been sitting in storage waiting for failure of old pair (which happened last Friday). Kept them on until down to Bald Peak Spur. Sharp traction on both made for more enjoyable hiking. From bottom to Bald Peak Spur was a mix of ice, hard snow pack and some exposed rocks, roots etc.. Increasing snow depth from there on up as well as less packed trail. 2-3 feet of snow along ridge with lots of postholes (mostly to the side of trail). Ice not much of an issue up high as there was nice snow coverage. Ice floes minimal currently on upper Mt. Kinsman Tr.. Beat the weather back home.
