Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: The parking lot at the corner of North Rd and Hogan Rd is plowed and in good shape with ample room. We didn't venture down Hogan Rd as it was an icy rutted mess. Parking at the North Rd/Hogan lot added and easy, painless 0.2 miles walk.

Comments
Comments: This is a very pleasant 7 mile out-and-back to Mt Hayes. We chose not to continue down the Mahoosuc Trail to the viewpoint as there were no views to be had today. The snow was just at that awkward temperature when you can't abandon microspikes and it's not deep enough for snowshoes, so you end up knocking huge snow balls off your spikes every 5 minutes. The trail conditions will no doubt change dramatically after tomorrow's storm.

We met not a soul today. It was a great, moderate hike with the bonus pleasure of snow falling most of the day. 46/52WAV
