Comments
Comments: Forecast called for potential freezing rain or snow earlier in the morning but changed over to mostly clouds - started hiking up at 11 and passed two hikers coming down, one barebooter and one with microspikes. I used snowshoes up and microspikes down due to steepness of the KRT but I guess you could give it a go without traction if you really had a penchant for masochism (trail is nice and packed, some postholes on either side). Higher up towards the ridge/summit the high winds have created some drifts - make sure you pay attention to stay on trail! There are some misleading broken out bits where previous hikers got sidetracked. Overall, a beautiful day to be hiking!
