Comments
Comments: The Greeley Ponds Trail could fool you into thinking the Mt. Osceola Trail would be bootable or spike-able.

Au contraire! The trail has lots of unconsolidated, wind-loaded snow and drifts. I wore my snowshoes car-to-car.

The steeps on East Osceola were 1-step-up-3-steps-back today. Lots of ab work with hands, poles, trees.

The chimney required a bypass of the bypass--the chimney itself looked more doable than the bypass. My ice axe was useless, so I'd suggest sticking to poles (tho, those will fall into the deep snow occasionally too). Spikes were also useless.

Upper trail was already drifting back in when I was descending!

Still, lovely views today. Rain will change everything, I'm sure.
