| Parking/Access Road Notes: |
The trailhead parking lot is not plowed and is covered with about half a foot of icy crust/hardpack. That said, we were able to drive up it, with care, in a front-wheel drive passenger trail with snow tires. (As an alternative, plowed parking can be found across the street at Wellington State Park.) |

| Comments: |
Trails are smooth, icy hardpack throughout, except in a few places on the upper ledges where the granite is exposed. Very few frozen postholes; we were happy. We wore Hillsound trail crampons and were able to move pretty quickly. Goose Pond is frozen over and with the lack of snow cover looks like fine polished glass.
Nice day out. |
